In the beginning, God didn't show off all of His world-making skills on day one. He simply spoke and created light because the world was full of darkness. Do you realize that God spoke and created light . . . before there was a sun!? Because HE is LIGHT. When I was writing this curriculum, that profound thought hit me so hard I was seeing stars! Or light! How incredible! We get to teach children about an awe-mazing God who simply speaks light into darkness; and He still does today! Through His Son, Jesus, we have light in us and we are the light in this dark world. What a…

Day 2
How can we talk about the sky that God created and not mention a rainbow? It is one of my favorite things to see in the sky and our reminder that God keeps His promises! I also love talking about the sky because it is a representation of just how BIG God's love is for us. Although we can't see the entire sky when we look up, we get a preview of the magnitude of God's love. Unlike the sky, Ephesians 3:18 tells us that we may understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is through His Son, Jesus.

Day 3
The day God decorated the earth! He created the flowers, trees, bushes, mountains, rolling hills, deserts, beaches, rainforests, prairies . . . you get the picture! On this day, God created parts of the earth to bring glory to Himself. I can't help but look at all of these amazing landscapes without praising Him and how creative He is!

Day 4
This day, God continued to keep His guarantee that He would provide light in darkness. He created one GIANT light for us and plenty more smaller planets to reflect that light. He created the galaxy full of stars and planets each one different than the next, all rotating in unison around the sun. Even when we can't see the sun on our side of the earth we still are receiving its light through the reflection of the stars and moon. When we are in a complete shadow we receive a light in the darkness by our amazing Creator.

Day 5
Day 5! Fish and birds, swimming things and flying things. I have a fascination with the ocean. The depth of it, the mystery of it, the many many creatures within it. I LOVE looking at the ocean, being in the ocean, sitting by the ocean, boating on the ocean, watching shows about the ocean (SHARK WEEK is my favorite week), you get the point! God didn't have to fill the ocean with amazing creatures, but He chose to, and we get to spend a life time discovering and appreciating those creatures!

Day 6
TODAY IS THE DAY! On Day 6 of Creation God went creative crazy and filled the earth with the immense amounts of animals and began to put humans on Earth! As a creative person myself, I like to imagine how much fun God had on this day! I look at all the crazy animals and imagine God saying, "I'm going to combine the marking of a zebra, body of a horse, neck and face of a giraffe and make a new animal!" Can you guess it? An Okapi is what we call that animal nowadays!

Day 7
REST DAY! I know as an adult this seems glorious and we really don't understand the need to rest and why God did it in the first place . . . until we are adults. BUT for kiddos we can begin introducing the concept of why rest is important. Also, I think their parents will thank us as we support their child's "rest" daily!
